A lawyer by training, Seng Chee’s career experience spans legal practice, international finance and government, real estate, technology, education and start-ups. He draws from his extensive experience and uses authentic personal stories to relate to client challenges. Seng Chee enjoys solving leadership problems and does his best work with leaders who do not take his word for it.

Professional background

Seng Chee has over 30 years’ diverse experience in legal practice, international finance, government, real estate, education, and technology. His proven track record includes successes in entering new markets, scaling businesses in incumbent markets, managing crises, and driving turnaround situations.
Originally from Singapore, Seng Chee’s experience covers both developed and emerging markets, and in public and private sectors. He has lived and worked in multiple countries, with extended stays in the USA, Singapore and Vietnam. Prior roles held include senior positions in the International Monetary Fund, CapitaLand Ltd and Mapletree Investments.
In addition to his work as a consultant and coach, Seng Chee is a Specialist Mediator at the Singapore International Mediation Centre, a Board director of the United World College of Southeast Asia, and a Senior Accredited Director at the Singapore Institute of Directors.

Education and qualifications

Seng Chee holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Singapore Management University and he is a Senior Accredited Director (Singapore Institute of Directors, 2024) and a Specialist Mediator (Singapore International Mediation Centre, 2024)

Personal

Seng Chee is a strong proponent of strengths and values-based coaching. He believes every person is called to a vocation, and that effective leadership begins with hearing and responding to that calling. His own experience tells him that today’s complex business landscape requires leaders who are centred and confidently self-aware.
