Gunter is a Senior Project Consultant and Trainer with more than 25 years of experience with project work, notably in the public sector and in international development cooperation. In his project management training programmes, Gunter places special emphasis on highly-interactive course conduct with a focus on practical application, flexible course facilitation in accordance with the needs of the participants, and a special focus on highlighting solutions.
Professional background
Gunter’s professional career started within the United Nations (UN) context and related technical project backstopping of UN projects in Africa and Asia, including advanced project planning and project evaluation tasks.
After his time with the UN, Gunter changed to the private business sector and worked as business development and project manager of an international inspection and control body, Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), where he also gained hands-on experience in the application of quality management systems and related audits and certification schemes (e.g. the ISO 9000 series) as well as advanced capacities in business process identification, description and analysis. It was also during this time with SGS that he furthered his experience into training and Human Resource Development and eventually became a freelance consultant and trainer.
Since 2003, he serves his clients as project consultant, project evaluator and project management trainer, specialising in the delivery of high-quality PM training in intercultural contexts. He has worked in many countries around the globe, such as Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tunisia, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, as well as in various European countries. Personal
Apart from his working languages (English and German), he also speaks French and some Italian. In his free time, Gunter likes to enjoy nature and do sports like cycling, jogging and hiking.
