His natural ability to interact with people from different cultures combined with a successful career as a consultant and facilitator has led him to work with major international brands.

Professional background

Florin knows that companies want an expert who understands people and technology, someone who can motivate teams to learn and grow, someone they can relate to and respect. He is the one-stop-shop whether you need help assessing training opportunities, selecting the best people for the team, customising a training programme for managers and front-line staff, or empowering teams with a sales information system. Florin started his career in marketing at Philip Morris in 1990. He coordinated and trained teams in Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Croatia and managed market development projects based on platforms such as Marlboro Music and L&M American Cinema. As a management consultant, Florin increased the effectiveness of teams in Canada, England, Sweden, China, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iraq.
On the academic side, Florin has taught at business schools in Canada, England, Dubai and Qatar. He has published on innovation and development of new media practices in creative industries: public broadcasting, documentary and interactive entertainment. He has also presented in Vienna, Vancouver, Lisbon, Bogota and Barcelona.

Education and qualifications

Florin holds a PhD in Communication from Ryerson-York Universities in Toronto, an MBA in E-Business from the University of New Brunswick (Canada), an Executive MBA from ASEBUSS Bucharest & University of Washington (Seattle), and an engineering degree in Radio Navigation. Florin has also completed professional development courses in leadership, team building, key accounts, negotiation and marketing effectiveness. He holds the AMA-CPM: Certified Professional in Management, the AACSB Instructional Practitioner Project Management: Kepner Tregoe, and is a DISC certified professional.

Personal

Florin lives in Qatar. He delivers his workshops in English and Romanian, and holds dual citizenship – Canadian and Romanian.
