Professional background
Between 2003 and 2006, Staffan worked as Managing Director at a plant in Belgium for ‘Höganäs AB’ which output is metal powders used in precision components of the automotive industry. Staffan was in charge for worldwide sales, R&D and production and held also full line responsibility for the plant in the UK.
Prior to this, Staffan was for six years Managing Director of the German and Benelux subsidiaries of French plastic components producer ‘Plastic Omnium’. His main responsibilities were Sales and Manufacturing for the automotive industry.
‘Furon Company’, a specialist in the production and sales of polymer components based in Belgium, appointed Staffan in 1994 as Managing Director of the European operations and Vice-President of the parent company in California (USA).
In 1992, Staffan was assigned by ‘Hepworth Refractories’ to restructure as Managing Director the European Operations ‘Industrial Ceramics’ in five plants in Belgium and France.
From 1987 and 1991, Staffan was CEO (Production and Sales) of ‘DDBS’ in Brussels. The company is now part of ‘Halliburton Inc.’ (USA) and specialises in diamond drill bits for oil and gas drilling.
His eight-year long career at ‘Sandvik Process Systems’, active mainly in the business of food and chemical processing machinery, led him to Germany in the function of President and to Spain in the function of Managing Director. He was in this period also part of the Group Management Committee at the Parent Company in Sweden.
‘Asea Brown Bovery’ hired Staffan in 1972 as Managing Director in Brussels, responsible for Sales in Belgium and Luxemburg.
Staffan started his corporate career in 1965 in his mother-country Sweden with ‘Surahammars Bruk (ABB)’.
Education and qualifications
Staffan holds a Master of Science (Eng.) at the Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm) and a Diploma in management at the IMD, Lausanne (forerunner to the MBA programme).
