Professional background
Samir held several positions with ‘Merck & Co’, the world leader in the health care sector.
Between 2001 and 2005, Samir was Business Unit Director (North Middle East & Jordan) of ‘Merck Sharp & Dohme’. He had full operational responsibility of the company’s marketing and sales business unit.
Prior to this, from 1999, Samir was Country Operation Manager (Jordan). He was in charge of a team of sixteen sales professionals and led the complete country business operation.
In 1997, ‘Merck & Co.’ appointed Samir for two years as Regional Sales and Marketing Training & Development Manager (Middle East).
In 1994, ‘Merck & Co.’ sent Samir on a three year mission to Cyprus. He held first the position of Training Manager before he moved on to become Product Marketing Manager. In both functions, the geographical scale was the Middle East region.
From 1992 to 1994, Samir was Research Associate (Jordan, Cyprus and Lebanon) of ‘Merck &Co’.
Samir started his professional career with ‘Merck & Co.’ in 1984 as Professional Sales Representative (Jordan) and stayed in this function until 1992.
He left ‘Merck & Co.’ in 2005 in order to provide independent consultancy with focus on HR Training, Coaching, Leadership Development & Transformation Management.
Education and qualifications
Samir is completing his PhD in Human resources development, he holds a Masters of Science Degree in Transformation Management from the ‘University of Buckingham’, UK and is affiliated to several renowned international and regional organizations and associations. Samir is certified in Ethics Management from Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is an Internationally Certified MBTI professional (Myers- Briggs Type Indicator step I & II). Samir is a member of the worldwide association of business coaches and a Founding member of the Jordanian Business Ethics Association. He is a Member of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF).
