Russell Houghton

Faculty PictureRussell brings to MCE twenty years of global expertise in Leadership Development and Talent Management. He is experienced in identifying the competencies required for success and in assessing and developing senior management, key account managers and emerging talent across the globe. He has successfully developed and implemented innovative global talent management strategies.

Professional background

Until 2009 Russell was the Head of Global Senior Management Development for IMI plc, a UK based FTSE100 global engineering company. During the six years Russell was with IMI, he implemented an innovative talent management strategy to identify and develop senior and aspiring talent both inside and outside of the group. He created a senior management talent pool and international programmes to recruit and develop senior leaders, key account managers and aspiring graduates into top performing senior managers.
Prior to working with IMI plc, Russell built his management experience and expertise in leadership development and talent management at Lloyds Bank. His career with Lloyds encompassed many roles ranging from branch management to leading training and development and executive succession and talent management initiatives.

Education and qualifications

Russell gained his degree in European Studies attending university in Hull and Strasbourg.
He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and has recently been an executive coach at a leading European business school.
A qualified practitioner in MBTI, FIRO-B, Belbin and the Political Intelligence Profile. He is certified Insights Discovery practitioner.

Personal

Russell is British and lives in the UK and Spain. Whilst he conducts his workshops in English he is a good French speaker. He enjoys golf (in Spain) and running, recently completing his first half marathon.
