Michael Heuser

Faculty PictureMichael Heuser brings to MCE twenty years of senior executive experience in the Airline industry and the ICT sector. He is recognised a leading expert in HR Business Partner Concepts, Corporate Academies / Universities as well as in the design and implementation of career systems for management, project managers and experts. He does extensive consulting, coaching and teaching work with major European companies and NGOs in the areas of Strategy, Leadership, Change and Performance Management.

Professional background

Today, Michael Heuser is partner and managing director of HLP Management Connex, a network of executives, consultants and academics, based in Frankfurt / Germany. In addition, Michael is professor for international management and project management at the Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft in Germany.
2002 – 2009: Senior Vice President Human Resources Development, T-Systems International. T-Systems, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, is the leading ITC provider in Europe. Here, Michael was in charge of people development for some 50,000 employees worldwide. His main focuses were: people and expert development; talent and management development; strategic change management; strategic learning and education; education policies. Michael was member of the CEO initiative “Enterprise 2.0” and initiator of the T-Systems Enterprise Group on the internet platform Xing.
1997 – 2002: Vice President and Head Lufthansa School of Business, Deutsche Lufthansa. Michael was co-founder and long-time leader of this first corporate university in Germany. In this capacity, he carried group-wide responsibility for the design and the implementa¬tion of education strategies and education policies, for management and organizational develop¬ment and for recruitment strategy and policies. Under Michael’s leadership, the School won several international awards, among them the Finan¬cial Times Corporate University Excellence Award.
1988 – 1997: Director International Programs, European School of Management and Technology (ESMT), Berlin / Cologne, Germany. Michael designed and conducted management and executive programs for major corporations, many of them in cooperation with leading business schools. Additionally, he was invited to Duke University, North Carolina / USA and to the Asian Institute of Management, Manila / Philippines as visiting professor.
For the last two decades, Michael has been an auditor of the accreditation systems EQUIS (business schools) and CLIP (strategic learning systems of companies) for the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), Brussels / Belgium.

Education and qualifications

After an apprenticeship in banking, Michael studied economics and journalism at the universities of Cologne and Mainz, Germany. He did his doctorate in business administration at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Michael is alumnus of the Advanced Human Resources Executive Program, University of Michigan / USA (Dave Ulrich).

Personal

Michael is German and lives near Frankfurt / Germany. He conducts his consulting, workshops and coaching in English and German.
