Professional background
Following a short career in clinical medicine, Liz joined the pharmaceutical industry, initially working in a field based medical role, closely aligned with the sales organization of a major pharmaceutical company. This enabled her to gain insight into the challenges of front line medical liaison. She assumed management responsibility for a newly formed team of field based scientific staff working across therapy areas and product lifecycle.
She led the marketing of Schering Plough’s UK hepatology portfolio, Liz was responsible for product strategy and successfully led three product launches and a successful NICE submission. During this time she also led product training for the therapy area.
Liz assumed management responsibility for a regional sales team. This provided hands on experience in sales training, supervision and management, together with an understanding of the dynamics of the sales environment across both primary and secondary care.
Returning to Medical Affairs in 2003, Liz was instrumental in the development of the global medical affairs team at Norgine. Following secondments to drug safety and project management she was appointed Vice President of Medical Affairs in 2011, and manages a team of 70 staff across Europe.
More recently she has assumed responsibility for patient engagement at Norgine and has become a recognized speaker in this field, having participated as speaker, chair and panel member at numerous Medical Affairs & Healthcare Conferences since 2015.
