Laurent has been Chief Marketing Officer for Orascom Telecom Algeria (Vimpelcom Group) from September 2009 until June 2013, managing a team of 80 people and a budget of M$ in a operation of 18 millions subscribers with 2 Bn$ revenue.

Since 2005 Laurent has been providing specialist advice on strategy, marketing and sales to many corporations in the B2B and B2C, in particular, the telecommunication, advertising, local government and financial industries.

Laurent gained his broad marketing experience through various corporate roles with Belgacom Mobile and Vodafone Group (1998-2005). During his stay, Laurent was selected by Vodafone to be part of the Vodafone Global Leadership Program (GLP), the starting point of a fast track career in increasingly senior management roles within the group in Belgium and in Egypt.

Laurent obtained an Executive MBA from Henley Management College, UK, in 2004. He has a post-graduate in Telematics and Organisation (1998), and also holds a Master in Civil Engineering from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (1994).

Professional background

Under his direction, the operation maintained its leadership position despite a very difficult situation.
From 2005 to 2009 Laurent consulted on strategy, marketing and sales with many corporations in the B2B and B2C, in particular, the telecommunication, advertising, local government and financial industries, while also being an MCE faculty member.
Laurent gained his broad marketing experience through various corporate roles with Belgacom Mobile and Vodafone Group (1998-2005). He was selected by Vodafone to be part of the Vodafone Global Leadership Programme (GLP), the starting point of a fast track career in increasingly senior management roles within the group in Belgium and in Egypt. From Product Management to Marketing Management, Vodafone live 3G management and all Devices commercial activities.
Prior to joining Belgacom Mobile, Laurent worked with Eurosense International, Belgium, experts in geographic information systems: an ESRI Inc Distributor. Laurent was sales manager for the European Commission and clients in the telecommunication and administration sector (1995-1998).
Laurent started his career as an IT consultant with CompuTrain, Brussels, in 1994.

Education and qualifications

Laurent obtained an Executive MBA from Henley Management College, UK, in 2004. He has a post-graduate degree in Telematics and Organisation (1998), and also holds a Master in Civil Engineering from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (1994).
Laurent has completed complementary training in Customer Relationship Management at IMD and Strategy into Action at London Business School. He is a certified Net Promoter® Associate.
Since 2010 Laurent has taught “Strategy and Corporate Governance” on the MBA program at Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management in co-operation with the National Economics University in Hanoi.

Personal

Laurent is Belgian and lives near Brussels. He conducts his workshops in French and English, and also speaks Dutch fluently. Laurent has in-depth understanding and knowledge of Arabic cultures thanks to five years in Algeria and Egypt.
