Professional background

Jann began her management career in British Telecom, London, where she was a beneficiary of its leadership programme for young, talented women. This gave Jann access to a range of engineering, service-oriented and support operations, where she became immersed in BT’s transformation initiatives, primarily in business analysis, improvement and cultural change. Subsequently, as a Board member of London Operator Services, Jann was responsible for managing the HR/change aspects of a major restructuring programme. This led to further responsibility for corporate transformational initiatives, both as a member of BT’s HR Strategy team and as a facilitator to BT’s then Managing Director.

Within a few years of developing her own business as a management consultant, Jann was invited to join the professional training Faculty at the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM, based in Brussels). In addition to developing and delivering organisational assessment training, Jann acted as an Assessor and Senior Assessor for the Excellence Awards for a number of years. Through Jann’s ability to combine significant experience of organisational assessment using excellence models with a solid understanding of change, she soon became a popular choice of change agent for some of the most respected and impactful European Agencies, in addition to a growing number of well-known commercial entities.

Jann continues to have a strong association with EFQM, most recently as Chair of the Jury for the Challenge Awards; UN Sustainable Development Goals in 2020 and the Diversity, Inclusion and Equality Award in 2022.

Jann’s longstanding association with Management Centre Europe as a Senior Associate was developed further in 2019 through a mutual passion to develop and promote leadership development for women. The impact of COVID meant that Jann temporarily focused on business opportunities in the Isle of Man and this led to the successful stewardship of two significant national government programmes, with specific attention on recruitment and selection, risk management, policy and strategy development and reforms within the built environment.

With the lifting of COVID restrictions, Jann is now able to embrace professional opportunities across Europe and internationally again and support the growth and continued success of MCE
