Ian’s unique background draws on his years of line management experience, senior management consulting experience and experience as a learning and development specialist. Today Ian is an innovative designer and developer of learning and development programmes as well as a lively facilitator and trainer. Ian is comfortable with all management levels, including the C-level, in business strategy, business development, marketing and sales issues.
Professional background
Ian’s 15 years of experience in strategic Learning and Development projects are supported by a business background gained through senior line management positions in sectors as diverse as pharmaceuticals (Smith+Nephew; Johnson & Johnson), automobile manufacturing (FIAT Auto); computers and software (RMplc); and the semiconductor industry (STMicroelectronics). In 1989 he left line management and started his own management consultancy since when he has helped over 100 companies change and improve their business.
His consulting and teaching experience have been missions with leading international businesses around the world. Ian has particular experience in high-tech industries, having worked with companies such as Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, AT&T, MCI/Verizon, BT, Nokia Mobile Phones, Vodafone. O2, France Telecom/Orange, Nokia Multimedia, Belgacom, Nokia Siemens Networks, BM, HP Europe, etc. Ian also has experience in the pharma /medical world (TJ Smith+Nephew, Johnson &Johnson, Philips Medical Systems. Aspect Medical Systems, Merit Medical), but also clients in diverse industries, such as Unilever, Kraft Foods Europe, Michelin, Suzuki-Maruti, Eastman Chemical and Piaggio
In parallel to his consulting, Ian was also Head of Executive Development at ESCP, UK from 1995-1998. Ian has also recently been a director of STMicroelectronics Corporate University where he founded a School of Sales and Marketing and headed up a major change management programme for the global business.

British by nationality, Ian was born in Kenya and has lived or worked in many different countries including Nigeria, Australia, USA, Japan and Germany and France. He currently lives in both England and France. Ian delivers his workshops in English and French.
