Professional background
Guido Dedene has more than 30 years of ICT practical experience. Started as an IBM Mainframe Systems Engineer, he became Full Professor in Information Management at the Faculty of Business and Economics at K.U.Leuven. He holds also a chair on “Development of Information and Communication Systems” at the University of Amsterdam.
His teaching activities focus on Methods and Techniques of Information & Communication Systems Development, the Economics of Information & Communication Services, and the Management of Information & Communication Technology. He has a leading role in two private Master educational projects: the Master on Enterprise Architecture (MEA) at Inno.com (Belgium) and the Executive Master on Information Management (EMIM) at the Information & Management Foundation Amsterdam. His teaching was awarded several times by the students.
His research includes the Model-driven Development of Information & Communication Systems and Quantitative Management & Innovation Models for Information & Communication Technology and Systems. Guido Dedene has extensive experience in Academia – Industrial relationships, including the Industry Fellows programme at K.U.Leuven, and serving for more than 10 years in GUIDE – SHARE Europe, an association of over 6000 Large-Scale ICT User Companies. He is member of several research networks, including NASA Dashlink for Data Discovery.
Guido Dedene is member of the Board of Directors at Inno.com, an innovative ICT-company, SAI, the Belgian ICT-Professionals organisation, and COLLIBRA, ICT-startup of the year in 2009. He is founder of LIRIS, the Leuven Institute for Research on Information Systems and the International Research Center for Business Concept Discovery. In Amsterdam he is Academic Supervisor of the Research Center for Service Innovation.
He was direct advisor in serveral Belgian and European governmental ICT-projects, including Outsourcing, ICT-Security, ICT-organisation and Information Infrastructure Management.
Education and qualifications
Guido Dedene holds a p.h.d. in Sciences at the Catholic University of Leuven (K.U.Leuven, Belgium). He publishes regularly in International Refereed Journals, including IEEE and ACM. He obtained several awards: IEEE Software Worldwide Best Practice (1995), IBM Europe Service Science, Management & Education (2006) and the Worldwide Industrial Conference on Data Mining Best Paper (2010).

Guido Dedene is Belgian, and lives in Leuven (Belgium). His seminars, workshops and advisory work in conducted in English, allthough Dutch and French is also possible.
