George Merguerian

Since 2002 he has been helping companies achieve excellence in the above fields through consulting training and coaching. George is Project Management Professional accredited by the Project Management Institute.

Professional background

Since 2001, George has held the position of Senior Partner and Managing Director for Europe at Global Business Management Consultants (Houston, Brussels).
His role is to support clients in achieving excellence in project management and to provide leadership to consultants globally.
Previous to this, George was Programme Director, responsible for Quality, IT, R&D practices at Management Centre Europe.
He worked for Cummins Engine Company, as Project Manager for new applications and business sectors.
George started his career as Mechanical Engineer and later joined Schlumberger as Field Services Manager and led engineering projects in the Oil and Gas Sector in Europe Middle East and Asia: Design and construction of offshore platforms: Marine vessels; development of instrumentation for measuring geophysical properties; providing hi-tech services to major oil companies globally.

Education and qualifications

George holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP® ), an ex board and current member of the Society of European Engineers and Industrialists (SEII) and the Project Management Institute. George is faculty member for project management programmes at the Rotterdam School of Management and the International Management Institute in Ukraine. He has authored and co-authored papers on technical and management subjects.

George is British, lives in Belgium and delivers his programmes in English.
