Daniel Fustier

Faculty PictureDaniel Fustier brings to MCE’s experience in leadership, strategy, business process, business performance and ICT. He benefits from an extensive senior management experience spanning several industries such as healthcare, life science, IT, software, electronics, telecommunications and services. His specific business achievements include business turnarounds in rapidly evolving markets, as well as breakthrough re-engineering of processes, organizations and IT systems.

Professional background

On behalf of MCE, Daniel helps companies with their business development, and business reengineering.

With Covance CLS, a leading global pharmaceutical development services company, Daniel was global vice-president for the central lab business unit. In this role, Daniel was in charge of IT services, IT application development, process re-engineering, integration of new subsidiaries, quality assurance and regulatory compliance (2003-2005).

Later he worked with IMSF, Geneva, as a strategy consultant for Oracle Europe.

With the Hewlett-Packard Corporation Daniel worked for 22 years (1979-2001) and held various strategy and leadership roles in the Computer, Healthcare, Medical and Analytical Products Groups, including Agilent Technologies:

– As the Global Division General Manager, HP Computer Group, UK, Daniel turned around the worldwide divisional business unit focused on agile business process management and workflow software and solutions. His focus was on product and consultancy solutions for telecom service providers and financial/insurance industries.
– As the European Service Operations General Manager at Agilent Technologies, electronic measurement services and formerly part of HP, Geneva, Daniel led the initially loss-making operation to record profits, by re-engineering the manufacturing and services process chain and consolidating the entire business in Europe. He gained new incremental business by repositioning HP/Agilent Technologies as a global solution provider for equipment multi-vendor services, by restructuring an outsourcing operation, creating a software R&D organization and developing an equipment management consulting activity.

Previous roles with HP include:
– System Integration Operations GM, Healthcare Group, USA, providing computer and consulting services to healthcare providers worldwide.
– Field Operations Computer Systems GM, Healthcare/Computer Group Europe, Geneva.
– Services and Medical Supplies GM, Medical Product Group Europe, Geneva
– Sales and Marketing Manager Europe, Analytical Products Group, EMEA, Geneva

Daniel began his corporate career with British Petroleum France, as a consultant and ICT project manager (1976-1978). Before that, he worked as a research associate at the University of Toronto, Canada (1974-1976).

Education and qualifications

Daniel obtained a Master in Industrial Engineering in 1974, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry from the University of Toronto in 1976 and an MBA from INSEAD France in 1979, and IMD (MCR program) Switzerland, in 1997.

Personal

A French citizen, Daniel lives in France and works in Switzerland. He conducts his workshops in English and French.
